How many drummers have used their wallet to muffle their snare? Probably quite a few, especially if someone felt the need to make a product emulating its characteristics. I present to you The Drum Wallet.
I noticed this at NAMM and was amused at its simplicity but it really does change the tone of the snare drum when applied. It’s a well made product that connects to the snare drum with straps that go around the tension rods to hold it in place and then the wallet can be applied and removed with a simple flick of the stick…No glues or adhesives to deal with. This thing would be great for dynamics. Got a soft part? Put the wallet on. Need to open up? Take it off. The Drum Wallet makes it easy.
It’s adjustable from 10 inches to 18 inches which means it’s not just for snares! Yes, you can mute your toms too!
Not only is it well made, it’s made in the USA with 80% recycled materials! A wallet with a lot of green in it….so to speak.
Price wise, it’s currently on special at their webpage for $29.99 until Feb. 28th. After that it goes back up to its regular price of $36.95. To me, $36.95 seems a little high of a price especially if they want people to consider using them on the toms as well. For a 4 piece kit, you’re looking at 110.00 for two toms and the snare. I’m not even going to look up what it would cost me for my 6 toms and snare!
Overall, a really cool product but I think they need to rethink the price.

Prices have gone way down since then, and they are designed for snares only so far. :)
